Oona O'Neill Whiskey Cocktail

Oona O’Neill Whiskey Cocktail

Daughter to a Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, and lifelong wife and partner to Charlie Chaplin, Oona was said to be an even bigger personality than Charlie. This whiskey cocktail recipe, a riff on the Manhattan, highlights the gentle bitterness in the amaro and the dry nuttiness in the sherry.

How to make the Oona O’neill:

  • Chill a 5 oz Nic & Nora glass
  • In a mixing glass, combine 1.5 oz house whiskey, .75 oz foro amaro, .5 oz baco oloroso, 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Stir over ice, strain into chilled glass. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel

Enjoy!
