It’s back! 2021’s Syrah finished whiskey release is now in stores and ready for you to enjoy.
Before this release is put into the Syrah barrels, it starts as our Hell Bear American Whiskey. Our Hell Bear is comprised of straight rye whiskey, a 4 year bourbon, and a 5 year bourbon. The whiskey alone gives fruit and subtle botanicals upfront, a prominent rye spice mid-palate, and a smooth vanilla caramel finish.
Though we love the Hell Bear on it’s own, every year we enjoy playing around with different finishes to discover new compatible flavor profiles. The Syrah finish has proven to be a staple, which is why we’re bringing it back annually!
Hell Bear American Whiskey finished in Syrah Barrels
The Syrah barrels are sourced from a winery in Oregon, Dominio IV. We age our Hell Bear American Whiskey in them for 10 months to provides initial notes of sweet blackberry jam, warm baking spices, vanilla, and rich chocolate on the nose.
The variety of sweetness on the nose gives way to flavors of chocolate-dipped raspberries, mulled wine, cinnamon spice, clove, brown sugar, and leather on the palate. This Syrah Finished Whiskey finishes with a lasting taste of caramelized cherries, fresh mint, and subtle molasses.
Mouth watering? We get it. This delectable limited release is highly sought after, and sells out of stores rapidly.
